November 3 – I am Grateful for…

Day 3….. November 3.

Today I am grateful for my dreams, goals, and desires.

“Dream”… as in a thing that you want in your life. The dictionary definition being a cherished aspiration, ambition, or ideal.

Not to be confused with a wish, dreams are things we work toward; something we want to achieve or accomplish. A wish is more hope for something that we would like to happen.

I believe that dreams and desires are an innate part of who we are. They are a way for us to discover, develop and fulfill our potential and continually grow and progress. We were designed to seek ways to do these things… to learn… to create… to explore… to seek out experiences.

So for today, I want to share 25 things on my “Dreams” List:

  • Earn a college degree (I still want more :))
  • Pay my children’s college tuition for their Bachelor’s degree (x5 kids)
  • Be married to the love of my life
  • Be debt free
  • Have 6 children
  • Take a family trip to New Zealand with all our kids
  • Travel with Robert to New Zealand
  • Run and finish a marathon
  • Have my specific house/floor plan

  • Write a book
  • Create a private coaching practice of my own
  • Remodel my master bath

  • Remodel my kitchen
  • Refinish my counter tops with cement
  • Travel to Europe

  • Serve as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
  • Write a blog

If you notice, on this list every other item is in bold print. That was not just to make it easier for you, the reader. The items on the list that are in bold are the “dreams” that I have created in my life. They rarely happened in the way that I thought they would. And very rarely did they happen in the time I thought they would.

Not to be confused with a wish, dreams are more likely things we work toward; something we want to achieve or accomplish. A wish is more hope or desire for something that we would like to happen.

Hello Friends!

I’m Michelle. I am learning how to minimize my overwhelm, perfectionism, and people-pleasing and I am ready to help you do the same. I’m a certified Life Coach and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Come with me and learn how.

I believe that dreams and desires are an innate part of who we are. They are a way for us to discover, develop and fulfill our potential and continually grow and progress. We were designed to seek ways to do these things… to learn… to create… to explore… to seek out experiences.

To reach our dreams, we use goals and desires to guide or choices. Goals are like the steps required to achieve our dreams. Desires are what guide our daily actions as we work on our goals. The “big picture”, the framework, and the small choices all work together to make dreams a reality.

I will share just one example:

25 years ago we bought our first home. It was wonderful and seemed like a dream come true at the time. But at the same time, I had a dream to own my friend’s house. I loved the floor plan and the style of this house. It was everything I wanted. There was no way we could afford that house, and besides, they were not selling it. But I still dreamed of having that house.

One day about 6 years later, in a conversation with a group of friends, I joked that we wanted to buy this particular friend’s house. That friend laughed and said, unfortunately they never planned to leave that house so we were out of luck. Then another friend in the group said, “Well, I have the same floor plan as they do so you can just buy my house!” We all laughed and I sarcastically said that would be perfect!

It was about a month later the second friend approached me and asked if I would seriously consider buying her house. It seemed impossible!! But as my husband and I discussed it, we determined that if we could make the financing work, we really wanted to buy the house. Within the next few months, we had everything in order and we moved into our new “Dreamhouse” by the end of the summer! That was over 18 years ago.

Did I foresee how it would happen? No. But I believed somehow it would happen. And most importantly, it did happen!

Now as I look at my list of “dreams” my brain recognizes that everything on that list can become a reality. All I need is the structure and desire to keep moving toward the outcome, and it is as good as done.

Do you have dreams you want to create? “Contact Me” and send me a quick email. If you prefer, you can “Schedule a Consult” for a free session to discuss what you want to work towards and how to get started.

My work is GRATITUDE, and I want to become a master!!

And as always…..Remember…..It’s ALL good!!

I help women face the overwhelm of parenting, family and multiple schedules, let go of the shame and people-pleasing perfectionism they place on themselves as women of faith, and create a life they love with intention and purpose. I can help you find your own answers for any problem, reach for any goal, and discover how to be more of yourself as you learn tools to use your own gifts to strengthen yourself emotionally, physically, intellectually and spiritually. In choosing to design your life and live into compassion and lessen the guilt and judgment, you can teach your family to do the same. Find the real you by showing up authentically for yourself and the ones you love. And remember... It's ALL good!!!
